How to have a good night out in Estepona

Estepona’s bars and clubs are significantly less expensive than those in Marbella and Puerto Banús and, although they might have the same exclusive feel, there’s a huge range, so you won’t go short of after dark entertainment.

Most of the bars in the old town are more low key, offering a more relaxed evening out; whereas the port area is where most of the clubs and late night bars are found.

Bar Caleu (Calle Real, Estepona; +34 952797 285), a hip Chicago-style venue, is a good early evening starting point and is directly opposite Tolone (Calle Real, Estepona; +34 625 721 798; www.tolonebar.com), a trendy cocktail lounge.

The town’s major nightclubs include Milonga (Calle de la Caridad, Estepona; www.milongadisco.com) and Plató 68 (Avenida Juan Carlos, Estepona; +34 670 503 124; www.plato68.com). Both draw a cool, in-the-know, party crowd and big-name DJs. Don’t even think of arriving to either before 3.30am – now that wouldn't be very cool. Plató 68 rivals Pacha (Ibiza) in terms of size and star quality.
